About Majestic Valley Wilderness Lodge
Majestic Valley Wilderness Lodge is a family-owned lodge in Glacier View, Alaska, about 2½ hours from Anchorage on the Glenn Highway and minutes from the Matanuska Glacier. The lodge sits high in the valley between the Chugach and Talkeetna Mountains. Dall sheep are often seen on the ridges above the property, and moose, eagles and the occasional bear pass through.
The main lodge is a handcrafted log building made from spruce harvested along the Matanuska River. Its covered porch faces the Chugach and is the favorite spot for morning coffee and evening sunsets. In recent years we’ve renovated our original rooms and built new lodging, including the Moose Chalet suites, the Adventure Lodge and private cabins. That gives us 21 rooms and cabins in all, each with a private bathroom.
Our kitchen serves chef-prepared Alaskan breakfasts and dinners, and our full bar pours craft cocktails and a selection of high-end Scotch whisky. After dinner, guests gather around the bonfire, soak in the hot tub, or try disc golf and axe throwing. Every room has free fiber-optic internet at up to 10 Gb. Our staff speak English, German and Spanish and can arrange glacier treks, rafting, flightseeing and hiking right from the lodge.
From Memorial Day weekend through the weekend after Labor Day, we host mountain weddings for up to 100 guests, with lawn ceremonies, in-house catering and room for 60 overnight guests. From October to mid-December, the lodge hosts retreats and private groups.
Open for lodging June through September.
