This event is a discussion on the identification of avalanche terrain and snow-related hazards. You’ll learn how to identify avalanche terrain, weather conditions that make avalanches more likely, basic companion rescue, and how to read and understand an avalanche forecast. This event is not formal avalanche training. We will be winter hiking (or snowshoeing, depending on conditions) with the potential for moderate elevation gain. This event is managed by our outreach partner, Revel Treks and Tours. Clicking “register here” will redirect you to their site to sign up.
